Director of Marketing and Communications Lynch School of Education
The Director of Marketing & Communications plans, develops, and manages the implementation of the marketing and communications strategy for the Lynch School of Education and Human Development. S/he will be responsible for evaluating and effectively employing appropriate marketing channels (digital, print, social, etc.) to achieve the school's strategic goals, including recruitment, reputational rankings, and alumni relations. Working closely with the Office of University Communications, Assistant Vice Provost for Graduate Enrollment Management, and the Lynch School Dean's Office, s/he establishes and executes the school's graphic identity, designing high-quality communications (e.g. admissions materials, eCommunications) and manages the websites associated with the School. The Director will be responsible for identifying, developing, and producing engaging content for distribution in website, social media, e-newsletters and other mediums. S/he administers internal project workloads and assigns appropriate creative resources to meet timelines and quality expectations. The Director oversees event management functions within the School and coordinates team members and stakeholders for various engagements (e.g., Commencements, Lecture Series). The Director must possess strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit to work effectively throughout the Lynch School of Education and Human Development and motivate the members of the team to produce high quality projects on time and on message.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $90,100 to $112,650; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Master's degree preferred from related fields (MBA, marketing, communications, etc.), or related experience. * Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a marketing/communications setting. * Experience in higher education a plus. * Advanced understanding of electronic communications, including experience with Web, mobile, and e- mail design and marketing; Hands-on knowledge of a range of design, e-mail marketing, and social media tools, such as InDesign, Constant Contact, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. * Sophisticated sense of design, photography, and typography, along with integrity, discretion, and creativity. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and project management experience. * Clear comprehension of the work of editors and writers and the ability to critique that work. * Ability to develop strong collaborative partnerships and to earn trust within an organization. * Ability to integrate and present complex information. * Ability to manage many projects, to develop appropriate priorities, and meet deadlines. * Experience training and managing staff, leading individuals and teams, and overseeing student workers and admin personnel to lead individuals and teams. * Experience establishing a service unit that focuses on continuous improvement and formulation of dynamic policies and procedures.
