The Western Athletic Conference (WAC), located in Arlington, TX, is accepting applications for the position of Marketing/Social Media Intern. This position will be a 10 month appointment, with a hybrid model of an in-office/WFH work week. This position will assist in all marketing and social media strategies of the conference to enhance the WAC brand through constituent outreach and engagement. The successful candidate will assist in executing social media strategies, content creation, content calendar oversite and brand consistency across all platforms. In addition, this role collaborates with sponsorship partners for full execution and activation on partnership fulfillment. Communication and connectivity with membership marketing contacts will be important to the success of the role, while promoting conference championships and executing marketing initiatives relative to each championship host site. Cooperative and joint efforts in working with the graphic designer to establish brand continuity will be expected. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable industry knowledge from experienced professionals across all external departments.
Bachelor's degree, or near completion of and demonstrated understanding of athletics marketing.
Experience in athletics marketing on a college campus as a student assistant would be ideal.
Demonstrated expertise and proficiency in all social media platforms and trends leading to creative content projects that yield increased engagement.
Analytical spreadsheet buildouts for strategy decision making based on social platform data.

Presently, the WAC crowns champions in 16 sports – 7 men’s and 9 women’s championships.
