Position Summary: Reporting to the Career Services Director, the Web, Marketing & Communications Specialist (WMC) is responsible for coordinating and implementing promotional and marketing campaigns for all department-sponsored services, programs and events. The WMC delivers strategic communications to students, employers, and the campus community; collaborates with Career Services staff to develop and maintain content on the department website, social media sites, and Handshake; leads a team of interns responsible for designing and creating promotional materials; and coordinates all public relations, tabling, and media activities for the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or English
Experience in public relations, marketing, event planning, or advertising
Experience developing and delivering presentations to small and large audiences
Experience editing the work of others
Experience with web page development and maintenance
Experience with using social media to promote and increase awareness
Preferred Qualifications:
Past work experience managing, training, supervising/mentoring student employees to reach their full potential
Experience designing marketing/promotional material using In-Design, Photoshop, or other desktop publishing software
Past experience with assessment of outcomes
Demonstrated project management experience to manage multiple projects at any given time
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and editing skills
Experience working in a collaborative, team environment
Ability to professionally represent Career Services
