At DMU you will make a meaningful contribution to the dynamic future of Medicine and Health Sciences. DMU is seeking an energetic person who will support the marketing and communications goals and objectives of the University by designing and managing the University’s website and other digital content, ensuring that we maximize Des Moines University’s brand. The position will help support the online promotion of University initiatives, achievements and events. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications. This is a great opportunity to join our very talented Marketing and Communications team as we build and prepare for our new innovative campus launch in West Des Moines in summer 2023!
What you’ll do:
Manage all content on the university website including writing, updating, and editing pages.
Design and layout website templates, pages, and the content within those pages to be consistent with the University brand.
Create strategies to optimize conversions for online campaigns and webpages for Admissions, Development, the Clinic, and other departments.
Optimize pages and posts for search engine optimization (SEO).
Assist with graphic design work for digital outlets including email, advertising, blog posts, social media, and videos.
What we’re looking for:
Associate's degree in marketing, design, computer science or related field required.
Plus two years’ experience working in marketing and communication required.
Website development/design experience necessary, with knowledge of, WordPress, HTML 5/CSS (Sass), Bootstrap, PHP, and Javascript/Jquery, and general aspects related to Web site design.
Demonstrated web design capabilities. Experience with streaming audio and video, compression methods, file types, and formats.
