Departmental Overview
Berkeley Law Executive Education helps legal practitioners and business professionals, as well as government and nonprofit leaders, meet their professional goals by delivering world-class certificate programs that teach hard and soft skills, elicit insights that lead to more effective problem solving, and expand participant networks. The program draws upon the expertise of UC Berkeley faculty, the law school's extensive alumni network, and deep relationships with business and legal leaders to provide program participants with access to thought leaders from a wide range of disciplines.
Many of the programs from Berkeley Law Executive Education provide Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) credits. Programs offering MCLE credit include monthly webinars, online courses, and in-person institutes and workshops.
The Marketing & Communications Specialist at Berkeley Law Executive Education will be at the forefront of advancing our mission to empower legal practitioners, business professionals, government officials, and nonprofit leaders to achieve their professional aspirations. The role will be instrumental in shaping and executing our digital marketing strategies, encompassing email campaigns, social media initiatives, and digital advertising. Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive email marketing campaigns that drive participant engagement, program awareness, and conversions.
Curate and create compelling content for various digital platforms, ensuring alignment with program objectives and audience interests.
Manage social media accounts, crafting strategic posts, engaging with the community, and fostering meaningful interactions.
Design and implement digital advertising initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize reach, engagement, and conversion rates.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align digital marketing efforts with program launches, events, and promotions.
Monitor and analyze digital marketing performance metrics, identifying trends, successes, and areas for improvement.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices, infusing innovative approaches into the department's digital strategies.
Contribute to the development of a cohesive brand presence across all digital touchpoints.
Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and uphold ethical marketing practices.
Oversee the creation of promotional materials designed to promote awareness of Berkeley Law Executive Education's programs within the alumni and general practitioner communities, as well as with professionals working in business, technology, non-profits, and government.
Coordinates design, production and distribution of publications and other promotional materials, including internet or web materials, press releases, advertisements, catalogs, brochures, flyers, signage, A / V presentations, displays, exhibits, etc.
Establishes and maintains contacts with internal and external marketing professionals and vendors; e.g., web developers, advertising agency representatives, artists, designers, photographers, mailing houses, promotional product vendors, list brokers, media contacts, etc.
Required Qualifications
Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills, including sound judgment and decision-making, and the ability to correctly identify potential and actual problems, advising management as required, and proposing effective solutions.
Ability to understand complex concepts and communicate them simply and clearly adhering to appropriate brand tone and values.

Thorough understanding of search engine optimization (SEO).
Comprehensive knowledge of marketing communication principles, media, and techniques.
Comprehensive knowledge of Google Ads, Google Analytics, and WordPress.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and video conferencing platforms.
Ability to learn new computer programs and software systems.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail with excellent editing and proofreading skills.
Skilled in mentoring less experienced staff.
Thorough knowledge of basic concepts, principles, and procedures of building and maintaining effective relations with external, internal and key constituencies.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $83,500.00 - $92,000.00.
This is a 100%, full-time (40 hours per week), career position that is eligible for full UC benefits.
This position is exempt and paid monthly.
This is a hybrid position, eligible for up to 20% remote capability.
