Partners with clinical department Chair and leadership team to gain a clear understanding of business initiatives and effectively translate them into strategic marketing communication tactics to promote and support the growth of the department. This is inclusive of the direct writing and editing of content intended for external and internal audiences.
Job Responsibilities
Develops and implements a marketing plan that recommends an effective mix of tactics to achieve Department and institutional objectives.
Builds relationships and leverages External Affairs best practices and competencies to achieve Department objectives.
Collaborates with internal departments and affiliates to expand marketing and communication efforts.
Works with outside vendors and agencies to coordinate videos and other projects.
Updates the Department's website with consistent content; provides support for project-specific website content; researches and writes content, including feature stories, news announcements event publicity, infographics, blogs and newsletters.
Collaborates with marketing colleagues on SEO key word strategies. Implements processes and guidelines to ensure web content is current and accurate. Analyzes site effectiveness to continuously drive usage.
Publicizes Department's content via the unit social media accounts; develops content calendar to create a consistent cadence of posts; creates or designs visuals that adhere to WCM's Brand Guidelines.
Conceives internal communications such as newsletter and email announcements promoting faculty and staff achievements, in support of department priorities including workforce safety and well-being plans.
Participates in the development of end user feedback strategies including customer satisfaction surveys and focus groups.
Writes various internal and external communications that may include writing, editing, marketing, blogging, and social media communication vehicles.
Adheres to WCM's style guide, ensuring production of high-quality and error-free copy.
Supports and evaluates results of marketing and communication tactics utilizing best practices from External Affairs.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in related field
Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
Approximately 3-5 years equivalent experience in marketing communications tactics, especially editing and writing publications and websites.
Content writing experience for multiple media platforms, such as Drupal (or similar), Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+ and interest in emerging social media.
Ability to interact directly with senior leadership level executives. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
