The Business Program at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences in the field of marketing and/or social psychology. Initial appointment to this position will be for a term of 4 years [8 semesters], beginning as early as the Fall semester, 2024, but no later than the Fall semester, 2025. Priority consideration will be given to candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor, but candidates at other ranks will also be considered.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent will teach the standard teaching load (4.5 courses per year) in the general area ofmarketing strategy and consumer behavior and be prepared to teach core courses for the major, including Introduction to Business, Marketing, Marketing Research, and Marketing Strategy as well as upper-level seminar courses within their area of expertise.
The incumbent will also be expected to engage in sustained scholarly research and/or other creative work appropriate to the position and participate in the full range of faculty responsibilities, including academic advising, mentoring undergraduate research and service on committees. Candidates who are excited to help build and shape a new business major and who value interdisciplinary, liberal arts education are particularly encouraged to apply.
Required qualifications:
Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph.D/DBA degree (in hand or expected by first semester of academic year 2025-26. Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching. Successful teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
