(Hybrid position) The Brand Marketing Manager will work under the direction of the Director of Brand Management + Marketing within the Public Affairs & Marketing Department and will provide support and oversight of the UC Davis Health brand while also serving as service line marketing manager to organizational entities (departments, programs, initiatives). This position will be considered a primary brand steward responsible for overseeing and advancing brand standards and educating, advising, and mentoring campus partners on the standards. It requires extensive interaction with stakeholder groups as well as coordination with Public Affairs and Marketing teams to achieve department wide and organizational goals. The Brand Marketing Manager creates marketing programs that are consistent with brand direction and assures organizational alignment to support specific marketing objectives. Supervisory experience and familiarity with managing the work of, and interacting with, copywriters, designers, photographers, and other creative support is necessary.
Primary duties include:
Develop initiatives that build brand awareness and increase brand value.
Oversee and update as necessary all UC Davis Health brand standards and guidelines (print and online versions) including logo, color palette, editorial style, brand voice, and all associated elements.
Regular brand audits of all primary and most specialty care clinics throughout the region, to assess brand compliance, ensuring brand consistency of materials and environment.
Serve as liaison and primary point of contact to UC Davis Health affiliates, centers of excellence and other partnerships on brand standards.
Develop multi-channel service line marketing plans for UC Davis Health departments, programs, and the like with specific objectives across various channels and segments including both patient audiences and physician audiences.
Work in partnership with the Art Director (and creative team), develop briefs and assess creative direction to meet objectives for campaigns including but not limited to print, digital and video assets.
Work closely with Marketing Media Specialist on all media placements related to marketing plans under their management.
Direct and supervise assigned staff. Manage projects, workflows, timelines, and work distribution making sure they are sufficiently trained to perform duties satisfactorily and in compliance with University and department policy and procedure.

Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing or related field.
10+ years experience working in marketing and/or brand positions developing brand and marketing strategies.
Experience as a brand manager/ambassador in capacity of upholding and reinforcing brand standards for an organization.
Minimum of 2 years experience supervising support staff in a creative capacity.
Experience developing and implementing comprehensive marketing plans.
Experience with managing both traditional and digital media campaigns.
Experience researching and analyzing information to identify trends, issues and potential invalid data.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively, courteously, and cooperatively with a wide range of individuals, including faculty/physicians and staff; business professionals; patients; consumers; and vendors.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships throughout the University, health system and community.
Strong problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking.

Advanced proficiency with all MS Office applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Ability to enter data quickly and accurately, verify accuracy and generate reports and lists.
Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a collaborative team to accomplish multiple, high-priority tasks; be highly resourceful.

Preferred Qualifications
CRM experience.
Working knowledge of project management software, preferably Wrike.
Knowledge of AP style.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Strong knowledge of health care operations in a managed care environment, including understanding of interrelationship between health plan, medical group, and provider selection.
Knowledge of UC Davis Health and its services, locations, and accepted health plans.
Knowledge of and experience with trafficking of advertisements across multiple mediums.
