The Associate Director is responsible for leading marketing and communications strategies for student academic experience and success within the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA), with a primary focus on the Office of Undergraduate Education. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing in OAA, the Associate Director works directly with the Vice Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Education and other leaders to develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communications plans that create awareness, advance reputation and understanding of students academic experiences, and ensure visibility of academic resources to Ohio State students.
This position will serve as a marketing and communications leader, consultant, and primary partner for the Office of Undergraduate Education, which includes, among other areas, Academic Advising, University Exploration, First Year Experience, Military and Veterans Services, academic success programs, and signature scholarship and support programs, including the Morrill Scholarship Program and the Young Scholars Program. Undergraduate Education also oversees Ohio States universal General Education program.
The Associate Director will work with partners across the university, including the Office of Marketing and Communications, Student Life, Strategic Enrollment Management, OAA reporting units, and college- and campus-based marketing and communications teams, to develop, amplify, and curate content and strategies that highlight the importance and impact of student success and outcomes, student academic experience, and student academic support resources.
Duties:
40%: Marketing and communications consultation and strategy development Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies, in partnership with Undergraduate Education leaders and units, that engage current students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders with the support of the resources and capabilities of the larger OAA Marketing and Communications team.
20%: Content development Create and manage content for various communications channels, including email campaigns, the Office of Undergraduate Education websites, student-facing content, student profiles, and impact content. Serve as an internal resource to provide key messaging on student academic success to support university initiatives.
20% Campaign and channel management Lead marketing and communications in support of OAA/provost strategic initiatives in addition to campaigns in support of specific offices, programs, and services that support student academic success.
15%: Relationship management/unit support Serve as a primary point of contact for OAA reporting units and guide these academic support units toward strategic marketing and communications solutions. Builds partnerships across the university, including with the Office of Marketing and Communications, Student Life, Strategic Enrollment Management, and college- and regional campus-based marketing and communications colleagues.
5%: Special projects/other duties as assigned Support additional areas as assigned in partnership with university colleagues. Develop relationships with marketing and communications partners at Ohio State and contribute to skill building and professional development. Contribute to special projects in the provosts office and for the university.
Minimum Required Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in communications and/or marketing with demonstrated experience in driving the implementation of strategic marketing/communications plans and tactics.

Strong writing skills and ability to write in different formats for different audiences.
Demonstrated experience with digital content management and strategy, including web content management, email marketing, and/or social media.
The ability to balance and prioritize multiple work streams and deliverables, and a flexible approach to work processes and planning to ensure deadlines are met; professional demeanor and strategic mindset, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, ability to convey information clearly, preference for collaborative working relationships.

The target hiring range for this job profile is $ 87,400 - 114,900The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
