Job Description Boston University's Creative Services team is looking for a talented, smart, detail-oriented Associate Director, Print Design who is responsible for managing the daily operational, logistical, and administrative functions and systems of Boston University's Print Design department. The Associate Director advises on resource assignments considering project priorities and timelines as well as individual strengths.
As the primary point of contact for information related to the Print Design project portfolio, the AD advises Creative Services team members on project budgets, timelines, and priorities. The Associate Director, of Print Design, works with the Print Design leadership team to ensure roles and responsibilities on projects are clearly defined, documented, and executed. The AD manages a Print Project Manager charged with assisting in setting project timelines, project administrative support, and directing project traffic. The AD also manages a Print Production team, responsible for contracting with outside printers for a variety of marketing materials and oversees a Studio team, responsible for implementing copy changes, coordinating with editors and copy editors, and preparing files for external printers ensuring accurate specifications. The Associate Director oversees and manages the budget for the Print Design team, including tracking expenses and revenue, and makes annual profit projections for the unit.

Required Skills
BA/BS with 3-5 years of experience working in project management in an agency, design organization, or higher education environment.
2+ years of management experience.
Tactically focused, strategic thinker.
Candidate must have resource management experience and familiarity with budget oversight.
Experience organizing and planning the work of project managers, designers, writers, photographers, and other team members.
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Superb time management and project management skills.
Attention to detail, efficiency, and strong follow-through skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Personnel management skills, including the recruiting of talent and fostering a highly productive culture essential.
Requires flexibility and adaptability to new technology in a changing environment.
Requires the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
Ability to work well under pressure and on high-visibility projects.
Digital workflow experience is a plus.
Experience preferred, but not required, with Excel, Smartsheet, Trello, and ActiveCollab.
