Championship Labs is looking for an experienced and creative Content & Social Media Strategist to help us build our social presence, work with student-athletes and influencers to build their social strategy, collaborate with NIL partners, recruit students, and share the work of the lab with alumni, donors, the media, and the public. You’ll be a keen channel strategist, understanding how content should be positioned to achieve maximum results. You’ll develop a cross-channel content calendar and drive meaningful interactions with our audiences on social media. You’ll be strategic, ensuring the brand is creatively delivered on each platform. The Social Media Strategist will be comfortable experimenting and piloting campaigns and strategies for building brands with a data-driven approach and will possess the necessary skills to effectively communicate best practices to UConn students.
Championship Labs at The Werth Institute educates and inspires student-athletes to become entrepreneurs to their name, image and likeness (NIL). We work one-on-one with students to create a blueprint to monetize their personal brand while empowering them with the skillsets of an entrepreneur.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Independently develop and implement the social strategy for Championship Labs.
Produce and publish content for Championship Labs.
Serve as a consultant to University administrators, faculty, and staff members in matters dealing with social strategy.
Assist Championship Labs students in the development and implementation of social strategy for UConn Student Athletes and Social Influencers.
Collaborate with UConn Communications on social content, campaigns and to ensure brand consistency.
Advise and collaborate with the Special Assistant to the Director of Athletics.
Manage the social media production team that publishes content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok accounts.
Publish and update the editorial calendar outlining all social media activity, as well as build the template for student teams.
Work with partner services to develop sponsored social content and meet sponsor opportunities.
Develop partnerships with TikTok, Meta, and Twitter.
Performs marketing studies to report on social metrics and analytics, evaluate effectiveness, and optimize current channels based on testing and iterating.
Create graphics and videos to accompany posts, or collaborate with internal staff for any additional creative assets.
Stay current with changes in the social media landscape, including emerging trends and technologies.
Bachelor's degree and 4 to 5 years of marketing and communications experience of which two years must be directly related to digital/social strategy.
Knowledge of social platforms and tailoring content for each platform.
Must have experience working with creatives and providing creative direction and feedback to content specialists.
Excellent storytelling, presenting, and communication skills.
Familiarity with Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Canva.
Experience with vertical video production for social media platforms such as Instagram and/or TikTok.
Experience producing branded social media graphics.
Strong understanding of ADA compliance best practices for social media.
Project management experience, preferably using a program such as Asana, Trello, Basecamp, Wrike, or a comparable application.
Understanding of sponsored/boosted content, digital advertisements, and social media advertising campaigns.
Experience managing or advising junior employees or interns.
