Associate Director of Marketing & Communications-MSL
Location: Evanston, Illinois
Internal Number: 45689
Department: Law MSL Program Salary/Grade: EXS/8
The Master of Science in Law (MSL) is an exciting, innovative, new master's degree offering at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law that provides STEM professionals with an understanding of the legal, regulatory, business, and policy implications of their work. The MSL program currently enrolls approximately 200 total students per year across both an online and residential format. Our student body is highly diverse, with students of different ages, work experience, backgrounds, race and ethnicity, and career goals.
The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications will create, implement, manage, and measure the success of the MSL program’s overall marketing and communications strategy. This includes developing content for all MSL outlets, such as the MSL blog and website; devising and implementing email and social media campaigns; creating marketing materials such as flyers and brochures; designing and executing the MSL’s marketing strategy on LinkedIn; and writing and developing content that promotes the MSL and placing that content in relevant media and marketing outlets. The Associate Director also collaborates with and manages the relationship with the MSL’s external digital marketing vendor, which involves developing an overall strategy for digital marketing, producing creative assets, writing and modifying marketing text as needed, reviewing metrics for both paid and organic search, and ongoing reviews of performance across the range of digital outlets, including Google and Facebook. In partnership with the MSL admissions team, the Associate Director will also play a key role in developing and implementing an outreach strategy for recruiting students to the MSL program.
The Associate Director role requires superb written communication skills, expertise with relevant technology including content management systems and CRM platforms, and the ability to continuously measure the success of marketing efforts and make data-driven decisions that increase performance. As the MSL program is itself creative and innovative, we are looking for a person who brings creativity to the position, and someone who is excited to guide development of the MSL brand for existing and new audiences.
We invite you to consider joining the MSL team – a collaborative, fun, and hard-working group, we enjoy the opportunity to help develop the MSL program in its formative years, and we have a great time working with our incredible student body.
