The Digital Marketing Specialist and Outreach Manager will work in the Office of the Dean of the College of Urban and Public Affairs. The position works collaboratively to manage digital marketing and support recruitment of students into the graduate degree and certificate programs offered in the College.
This is a 12-month, full-time 1.0 FTE position, reporting to the Dean. Upon request, the position can be reduced to .75 FTE (roughly 4 days (30 hours) per week) to accommodate work-life balance needs. The position offers work schedule flexibility, with an option of working remotely up to three days per week (subject to ongoing performance review and supervisor approval).
Primary responsibilities will include coordinating outreach to prospective and current students regarding recruitment and retention initiatives for the various graduate programs in the College. Specifically, this position is responsible for the following duties.
Manage college digital marketing initiatives, including:
Develop cost efficient strategic digital marketing campaigns designed to increase graduate recruitment in the College using a trackable framework, such as GOST (Goals, Objectives, Strategies, and Tactics)
Perform data analysis and tracking, utilizing PSU's CRM and other data sources—including graduate enrollment counts and admissions funnels—to inform, guide, and track graduate student recruitment success. As appropriate, collaborate with key stakeholders to create specialized reports or database systems to improve the relevance, effectiveness and accuracy of tracking key performance indicators.
Manage start-to-finish execution of all paid digital media, including planning and buying, and establishing and actively managing an annual budget
Collaborate with academic program directors to create email communication workflows and drip campaigns to prospective students
Collaborate in planning and promotion of graduate student recruiting events and outreach activities.
Co-lead website content management and maintenance, including:
Oversee data tracking and analysis of website users and user actions, using Google Analytics and other tools
Ensure SEO best practices are utilized throughout the college webpages
Manage college scholarship processes, including:
Collaborate and participate in the promotion of scholarships, particularly for recruitment purposes
Coordinate college scholarship committees and internal communications
Serve as a scholarship point of contact for the Portland State University Foundation and the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
A Bachelor's degree.
Demonstrated success and knowledge of implementing effective digital marketing strategies.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Proficiency using CRM data systems, Google Ads and Analytics, and social media marketing dashboards.
Self-motivated and demonstrated success in implementing new initiatives.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to adjust to multiple demands as management priorities shift.
Proven ability to work effectively as a team member on collaborative projects.
Successful completion of a background check.
Marketing experience in higher education or non profit organizations
Experience with data analysis and utilizing data to guide future outreach strategies
Intermediate knowledge and expertise in concepts, principles, and practices of marketing typically obtained through a Bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of professional experience
