This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports directly to the Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Communications. Tarleton State University is located in Stephenville, Texas and is a member of NCAA Division I and the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Tarleton is seeking highly motivated applicants for the position of Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement. This position will be responsible for advancing the mission of Tarleton State University Athletics by overseeing the marketing and fan experience efforts, as well as strategizing, developing, and implementing innovative marketing, promotional, and game atmosphere plans to increase game attendance, ticket sales, and fan experience elements for all Tarleton Athletic Events.
Responsibilities -Game Day scripting, leading, and implementation of in-game marketing and fan engagement efforts that include in-game music, entertainment, public address, video board fan engagement camera operators, and more as part of a growing department -Graphic design -Managing assigned social media channels, which includes planning, creating and executing daily content -Market, promote, and assist with athletics fundraising efforts -Implementation of ticket promotions, sales plans, advertising campaigns, and community and statewide outreach events -Collaborate closely with internal colleagues for highly engaging fan (and prospective fan) experiences -Create fan development and community outreach initiatives -Conceptualize content and strategy for video board use at select venues. Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum four years of previous experience preferably within a college athletic department, preferably a Division I program, or professional sports organization
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills including strong media writing ability and knowledge of AP style
- Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule work assignments
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop
- Graphic design/illustration skills
- Competent in social media platforms and strategy with experience managing multiple channels
Other Requirements:
- This position requires work beyond normal business hours, weekends, and holidays.
