Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, an Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a Senior Marketing Technology Manager.
This position can be based in any of the following offices: Chicago, Downtown Los Angeles, Century City, Washington DC, Houston, Orange County, Del Mar, San Diego, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and Dallas. There is only one opening.
*This position has the potential for a remote work arrangement, depending on experience and qualifications.
The Senior Marketing Technology Manager is responsible for the strategy and oversight of all technology used by the Business Development Department including the identification of new products, rollout and training, integration, management of existing software and vendor management. The Senior Manager is expected to learn how the marketing technologies interact and integrate with other products in the firm, working closely with the firm’s Information Technology and Knowledge Management departments. As the subject matter expert for these resources, the Senior Manager is looked upon to identify efficiencies and process improvements, develop and communicate best practices and create training modules.
Reporting to the Chief Business Development & Marketing Officer, the Senior Manager provides leadership for the ongoing management, development and support of the systems portfolio overseen by the Business Development Department.
Responsibilities
- Provides strategic guidance on current use of marketing technologies and evaluation of additional needs
- Has ownership of the marketing technologies currently used by the firm and additional technology brought into the firm to support business development activities, including but not limited to InterAction, Pitchly, ContactNet, gwabbit, Vuture, Foundation
- Manages the firm’s CRM, including data management, quality control and user support
- Oversees the process of integrating data from other firm business systems
- Develops, supports and documents business processes and procedures with use of the firm’s systems
- Identifies opportunities to automate business processes and assists key users in defining and implementing such processes to maximize utilization of the system
- Liaises with Information Technology and Knowledge Management, as critical functions of the firm that interact with the Business Development Department
- Ensures consistency with how the resources are deployed, supported and reported on
- Develops and delivers consistent reports on usage of the technology, including trends and issue spotting
Essential Functions:
- Leads integration efforts with the marketing technology on behalf of the Department
- Develops training modules
- Creates process manuals and maintains best practice documentation
- Is the subject matter expert for the marketing technology used by members of the Department
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct supervisory responsibility for one role.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 12 years' experience in a project management leadership role in a law firm or professional services firm.
- Knowledge of and in-depth experience working with CRMs in a professional services environment.
- Project management experience including rollout of new software, training modules and ongoing maintenance.
- Experience with SQL reporting. Strong organizational skills and client service acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and document business processes.
- Solid understanding of database concepts and web-based platforms.
- Self-motivated and demonstrated interest in learning new software and database applications.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Law firm experience with specific understanding of InterAction and other CRM platforms. Experience with project management software.
Education
Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Computer/Software Knowledge
Required: InterAction or other related CRM, Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred: Power BI, SSRS
Work Environment
After hours and weekend work will be required on occasion as the workload requires.
Travel Requirements
Minimal travel and up to 25% annually. Travel will be to various Firm U.S. offices.
