The Vertical Marketing Manager's primary goal is to support retention and expansion of Merkle client relationships using an account-based marketing approach. The Vertical Marketing Manager is growth-minded and a collaborative team player who partners with internal marketing and client team leadership to build and activate the industry marketing and sales enablement plans--across content, communications, digital channels, events, PR, and marketing operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop an understanding of the industry-specific customer experience management (CXM) challenges that brands are facing and how Merkle's services and technology partnerships can help drive business results for clients.
- Working closely with Client Leadership, develop and activate an industry-specific marketing plan to build awareness of Merkle's industry-focused practices and help the team meet outlined revenue goals.
- Collaborate across the Global Strategy and Technology Partnership Marketing teams to inform the marketing plan and create industry-specific content that can be activated in the account-based marketing framework.
- Meet the baseline monthly, quarterly, and annual KPIs identified for each Client Marketing Plan across campaigns, content (playbooks, blogs, vlogs, articles, podcasts, videos, etc.), PR, events, awards, go-to-market collateral, web properties, and case studies.
- Work with Merkle's events teams to identify and collaboratively activate Merkle's industry-specific presence at hosted, industry, and partner events.
- Work directly with PR manager to identify publishing opportunities for vertical teams in targeted publications to communicate industry points of view and share client stories/successes.
- Collaborate with Marketing Project Manager and Activation team to execute industry playbook campaigns as needed.
Skills/Requirements:
- 5+ years of B2B marketing experience in a services industry, CXM/marketing agency services preferred (customer experience, commerce, analytics, data, technology, media, creative)
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and welcomes change to yield better outcomes
- Ability to work effectively with Leadership and client teams to build consensus and lead and execute the marketing strategy
- Previous success in a complex, matrixed solution and marketing environment
- Strong problem solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
- Exceptional communications skills in writing internal and external marketing communications, including content creation
- Bachelor's degree in marketing and/or communications (or comparable)
- Bonus: Industry knowledge in Financial Services, Insurance, Wealth Management, Nonprofit, and/or Health marketing sectors

For individuals assigned to and/or hired in Colorado, the anticipated salary range for this position is $73,459-$87,000, which is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other job-related qualifications. Pay ranges in locations other than Colorado may differ based on labor market wage rates in those locations.
