This position is part of the Advancement team. At Wasatch Academy, the Advancement Department incorporates admissions, development, and marketing and communications to support the school in the advancement of its mission. The Marketing Manager will partner with the Director of Institutional Advancement to develop and execute the strategic marketing and communication plan. The primary focus is to tell the unique story of Wasatch Academy internally and externally to inform and increase awareness of the school, generate interest and demand among prospective families, strengthen our institutional brand and reputation, and raise visibility nationally and internationally.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the Director of Institutional Advancement to develop new strategies for enhancing the marketing and communication plan.
Oversee and manage all school communications across platforms and ensure materials are timely, accurate, and in support of the school’s mission and priorities.
Manage and publish our Wasatch Weekly newsletter that goes to current families.
Manage the use of the official school branding to ensure consistency school wide.
Provide school-wide support to identify communications, marketing, and media opportunities to inform and solidify relationships with all constituencies – including students, families, educational consultants, agents, faculty, staff, and the greater community.
Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase retention, reach prospective students and families, generate applications, and to support new students and families as we welcome them to our community.
Collaborate with the Director of Development and Alumni to design and implement communication pieces that strengthen donor engagement and generate philanthropic support for the school.
Manage the dynamic content for social media distribution to drive traffic to the school website.
Coordinate the development and production of all marketing materials.
Maintain and manage the content and appearance of the school website.
Identify, track, and report the impact of communications with key benchmark data and survey metrics.
Manage the marketing budget to meet and remain within the annual allocation.
PREFERRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Have excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, be able to think creatively and strategically, be a problem-solver, and be a team player.
Have three or more years’ experience in marketing.
An understanding of independent schools is preferred.
Have a proven ability to effectively learn and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Be adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
Display enthusiasm and dedication to contributing to a healthy learning community, energetically supporting colleagues, and sharing ideas and resources.
Maintain an accepting and supportive attitude that encourages diverse perspectives.
