Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business is searching for a Director for Admissions Marketing and Communications. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing essential support by evaluating applications and making admission decisions as a senior member of the Admissions Committee. This includes: Analyzing and synthesizing a large amount of often conflicting data (including undergraduate transcript, test scores, professional history, letters of recommendation, extracurricular involvement, essays, and interview report), to select the best applicants for admission. Conducting evaluative interviews with applicants to gauge their professional presence, communication skills, career potential and overall suitability for the program.
Core responsibilities will include:

Represents Masters Programs at national and international student recruitment events. An extensive amount of travel is required, and professional presence required at these national events that showcase Tepper.

Ability to lead a team. Supervises two admissions staff whose primary responsibilities fall within the admissions marketing function. Leads the performance evaluation and associated performance plan for direct reports. Works with the Executive Director to implement the recruiting and recruiting strategy, train and develop staff to meet new and ongoing organizational and program goals with a focus on providing exceptional service to important constituents in their interactions with the Admissions department.

Works with the Tepper Marketing & Communications team as it relates to all aspects of marketing for the MBA programs, including the strategic direction of digital and other advertising campaigns. Provides feedback to marketing on campaign partnerships and content. Coordinates the integration of these activities with the Slate system. Ensures tracking and measurement is captured in Slate, as appropriate, and will report on the outcomes to inform subsequent campaigns through data analytics.

Leads in a project management role in working with the Tepper School's marketing team for the development of key marketing collateral (print, web, social media) - Viewbook (MBA & MS programs), Teasers, Event collateral, Admissions website content, Countdown site, Admit packet, and other promotional material to ensure delivery of pieces on a timetable that enable admissions to use the materials most effectively.

In preparation for summer/fall recruiting, lead the annual creation of appropriate presentations and talking points for recruiters to ensure that key messages are consistently being communicated to prospective students. Share information with office staff to provide consistent messaging.

Creates/updates email/drip campaigns, and related marketing content used in the CRM system for Masters Admissions, overseeing all aspects of the CRM including the development of email campaigns and event promotion. Ensure that effective email content represents the unique attributes of the program and addresses needs of candidates as they move through the admissions funnel. Determines strategy for A/B testing, assess open rates, conversions, and other marketing-related metrics through data analytics and reporting.
