The Senior Marketing Specialist will work closely with colleagues across departments to execute marketing plans and initiatives to promote and support APIC and its mission. Uses advanced level of marketing to deliver impactful campaigns across key channels to promote various APIC product lines, which may include any of the following: Annual Conference, Specialized Conferences, In-Person/Virtual and Online/On-Demand Education, Corporate Partnerships, Membership, Products/Practice Resources, and Grants. This senior professional level position is viewed as a SME in their respective area. Located in Crystal City/Arlington, VA, we offer a generous post-COVID telecommute policy. This position is open to applicants residing in MD, VA and DC within a 75-mile radius of Arlington, VA.
The Senior Marketing Specialist should be able to both collaborate and work independently. This individual will have strong project management skills, demonstrate a passion for marketing, and value timeliness and accountability.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing Campaign Management (55%)
Execute and track the daily marketing tactics, as outlined in the program plans, ensuring projects are on time and within budget.
Manage all email marketing efforts (including e-newsletters) for products in the Specialist’s portfolio, including copywriting, layout, graphics (as needed), segmentation, distribution, and tracking.
Lead development of print collateral for all programs, including writing copy.
Execute and track web promotions for all products, including designing promotions for the APIC.org homepage and external digital placement.
Maintain/update marketing calendar for all campaigns.
Track and analyze performance of KPIs for all channels against schedule and goals.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration (20%)
Meet regularly with internal clients to provide project status updates, progress against goals, and feedback and insight.
Collaborate with communications team for promoting programs via social media.
Collaborate with technology team for web content updates.
Coordinate ad placements with Director.
Provide marketing updates on a monthly or as needed basis.
External Vendor management (20%)
Work with designers on schedules, timelines, and art direction, and coordinate production with printers.
Manage printing and distribution with external vendors.
Manage digital advertising via multi-channel digital placement platform.
Other non-essential duties as assigned (5%)
Knowledge and Skills required for the position
Bachelor’s degree required. Concentration in Marketing or related field preferred.
5+ years’ general marketing experience required.
Membership association or non-profit experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in a variety of marketing media, including email, digital advertising, website, collateral, direct mail, and events.
A commitment to innovation and learning that is reflected in the execution of marketing campaigns, particularly as it relates to the introduction of marketing trends to campaigns. This includes marketing automation and digital solutions.
Excellent project management skills – the ability to balance multiple projects while adhering to campaign schedules and budget. Strong attention to detail required.
Experience working on cross-functional team projects. Must have superior teamwork skills to work collaboratively both internally and externally.
Strong written and verbal communication skills – the ability to write persuasive, intelligent, segment-based marketing copy, as well as the ability to successfully convey the tactics and strategies of the campaign to internal clients.
Solid creative instincts combined with the ability to create basic digital assets such as email headers. Eye for design and ability to articulate successful design that advances marketing strategies.
Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop, is preferred but not required.
Ability to translate analytics and determine actionable insights, including experience tracking and evaluating campaign results. Familiarity with Google Analytics and other reporting tools is preferred but not required.
Financially proficient with basic knowledge of budgeting and the ability to track a project against its budget.
Proficient in a variety of software applications that support all marketing execution — MS Office applications, primarily Excel. iMIS or other AMS/CMS software a plus, plus experience with email systems such as Emma, Constant Contact, Real Magnet or others.
Experience with HTML/CSS. WordPress experience is highly desired.
