JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Communications and Marketing, the Digital Content Manager conceptualizes, creates, implements, organizes, designs, maintains, coordinates, and manages the digital content for The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) website and official UTHSC social media channels. This position manages the Digital Content team, works closely with campus communicators, and advises and informs other members of the Office of Communications and Marketing, ITS, and UTHSC campus on issues surrounding digital communications strategies, tactics, and policies that assist UTHSC in meeting key marketing and communications goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as the primary lead for conceptualizing, creating, implementing, organizing, designing, maintaining, coordinating, and managing all digital content for the UTHSC website and social media channels.
Supervises and guides the Digital Content team in the Office of Communications and Marketing.
Provides guidance, support, and training to the Digital Content team, Office of Communications and Marketing, campus communicators, or any faculty or staff assigned within each college and other UTHSC departments to manage digital content.
Directs and develops effective and efficient processes for gathering, creating, evaluating, and publishing digital content that supports UTHSC's mission.
Develops and maintains a university-wide culture that encourages faculty and staff to take an active and ongoing role in content generation, content publishing, and maintenance of content that is published to the UTHSC website and official UTHSC social media channels in coordination with Digital Content team.
Collaborates with the UTHSC DevOps team in ITS and third-party vendors to support and continuously improve the overall UTHSC web presence.
