Kellogg Executive Education is in a pivotal phase of growth and evolution. While our Exec Ed offering is still anchored by in-person programs held at the Allen Center in Evanston, the pandemic has also created new opportunities to deliver live virtual programs to students around the world. In addition to the changes in our program delivery, the executive education category is rapidly expanding, with established university competitors and tech-driven start-ups all competing for leadership in a growing market.
Executive Education at Kellogg is widely recognized as one of the strongest programs of its kind. Fueled by the research and experience of Kellogg’s renowned faculty, Executive Education is an important component of the School of Management, providing a vital interface between Kellogg and the business world by delivering career-changing educational experiences for the working executives and leaders who participate in our programs.
The Associate Director, Content Strategy is a critical strategic role within the marketing organization at Exec Ed. Developing original long-form content and purposeful marketing communications are the key responsibilities of the Associate Director. Our current marketing programs are developed and delivered via a sophisticated digital marketing program that demands excellent creative across multiple channels.
A great candidate will thrive while writing both editorial pieces and highly creative ad/marketing copy to elevate the voice of Kellogg and Exec Ed and support our overall efforts for building the brand. The Associate Director will simultaneously serve as a journalist uncovering the most dynamic, impactful stories within Executive Education and then acting as a modern, innovative marketer who shapes these stories into messages that drive enrollment and build our reputation among our highly discerning audiences.
For a content marketer, the Kellogg is blessed with a wealth of material. As we engage our audiences of potential participants and encourage them to enroll in our programs, we draw upon the scholarship, insights and personalities of our faculty, which ensures that our marketing work is built upon a matchless foundation of content.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes high quality, on-brand marketing, communications and thought leadership content that supports paid, owned and earned media channels
- Manages direct report in the execution of key Exec Ed content areas including organic social media, videos, newsletter and website.
- Establishes and consistently refines processes for creating and disseminating content
- Analyzes and reports on the effectiveness of content performance
- Leads and executes key strategic analyses including competitive benchmarking and overarching content trends

Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of relevant industry and/or functional experience (marketing, communications, content development, digital/social media).
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
- Excellent strategic and analytical skills.
- Strong ability to collaborate across departments and functions; proven relationship builder.
- Able to work under deadline pressure and adjust priorities independently to meet changing business needs in an entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with marketing for higher education or other student-based institutions
- Experience with content development and social media.
