This key creative role collaborates closely with the Norton Center Director of Marketing and Development to elevate the performing arts center’s brand identity and clearly and consistently communicate positioning across all channels to increase awareness on campus, within the community, and across the state. The position plans, designs, and delivers compelling content and campaigns that bring the Norton Center story to life and drives audience engagement and subscription and single ticket sales.
The ideal candidate is an organized, creative thinker and visual storyteller with strong graphic design, web design, branding, advertising, social media, and digital communications experience and a track record of successfully managing project schedules on-time and on-budget while achieving growth. Individual reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Development.
Essential Job Functions:
Collaborate with marketing, patron sales and services, and programming teams to set goals, build strategies, and plan and execute annual sales and marketing calendars.
Plan and produce compelling marketing content and campaigns that bring the Norton Center’s brand to life while cultivating and engaging target audiences.
Design and execute all creative marketing and communication projects from concept through production, including season guides, advertisements, show programs, order forms, postcards, signage, billboards, art exhibition materials, emails, postcards, graphics, presentations, and more. Coordinate all marketing assets and ensure a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and brand consistency across platforms.
Manage the Norton Center’s digital platforms including the website, social media channels, email marketing, blog, etc. Grow digital presence and reach through engaging content, campaigns, and new lead generation ideas.
Partner with Centre College communications, development and alumni engagement, and other campus colleagues to align and execute branding and communication objectives.
Collaboratively support marketing and communication initiatives across institutional units as needed, in support of Centre College goals and objectives.
Assist in the planning and coordination of marketing events and activities that engage constituents and build loyalty, including pre-performance activities, annual season launch events, subscriber receptions, VIP experiences, and campus and community partnerships.
Coordinate creative resources and vendors including printers, developers, photographs, videographers, and others as needed.
Demonstrate appreciation of and experience working with a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.

Education and Experience
Five to ten years of experience in a professional graphic design or similar creative marketing role
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts or equivalent combination of experience and education
Previous work with performing arts, visual arts, or other cultural organizations or events preferred
Knowledge and Skills
A broad design portfolio that demonstrates expertise across a range of platforms and channels
Highly creative, collaborative, and energetic with a strategic mindset and passion for creating compelling content
Excellent project and workflow management skills with strong attention to detail from concept development through production
Proactive, resourceful, flexible, and able to calmly juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with strong experience in website and email content management systems and social media platforms
Photography and video editing skills a plus
Willingness to regularly work shows and events on evenings and weekends
Limited pushing, pulling, lifting. Lifting would not exceed 20 lbs
