AOSSM is seeking a Digital Marketing and Special Projects Coordinator to advocate for and execute the digital strategy within the overall marketing plan and to evaluate its effectiveness, including AOSSM and Medical Publishing Board email marketing, social media, web sites, search engine optimization, and traditional marketing campaigns. Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
This position will work closely with the Marketing Manager to guide and execute specific projects. This position will assist in preparing a yearly promotional plan and coordinate and execute the digital components of the plan. Digital tools include using email content distribution platforms, social media, blogs, videos and a website content management system (CMS). The individual needs to have an interest in learning our product offerings in order to write meaningful copy and suggest the appropriate online strategy for the products based on content and the audience.
The position requires exceptional writing and editing skills for digital and social media as well as for mainstream marketing projects. Writing samples showing a command of how to prepare both social media and general marketing copy are required. The Digital Marketing and Special Projects Coordinator must be detail oriented and ensure online content is kept both current and error free.
Travel to the AOSSM Annual Meeting is required and there may be additional travel up to two times per year. On occasion, work outside of the normal business day (typically remote) may be required. Experience Required: A college degree in journalism, marketing, communications, media, or related field, with a minimum of 2-3 years social media and web site CMS experience. Exceptional verbal and written skills are required, and knowledge of AP Style is strongly preferred. Must have a proven ability to organize and complete complex and multiple work (including digital and traditional marketing) assignments on time while analyzing situations.
Additional Requirements: Association Management experience highly preferred. Working knowledge of basic graphic design knowledge (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and analytic tools (e.g., Google Analytics) preferred.
