Under the direction of the Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs, primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: 1) Develop, implement and execute a comprehensive marketing plan for Athletics, which includes outlining promotions and ticket sales strategies, with the goal of increasing ticket sales and attendance. 2) Develops and implements a plan to increase awareness for all sports through print and electronic media, telemarketing, billboards, internet and local contacts, secure trade-out opportunities whenever possible. 3) Develops implements and maintains strategies to increase and maintain high levels of student involvement. Includes, but is not limited to, appearing at student group meetings, orientation, working closely with Student Government, Recreational Sports, Student Affairs and Residential Living to provide activities for students in conjunction with athletic events. Work with the ticket office for student ticketing and loyalty rewards programs. 4) Assumes overall responsibility for all in-game marketing and promotions associated with home athletic events; i.e., Video Board scripts, Game Scripts, PA’s, music and time-out coordination with band, cheer and dance, as well as sponsor activities. 5) Assists with local advertising sales and sponsorship prospects, and activation of sponsorships. 6) Initiate programs with coaching staff and student-athletes to enhance community relations and outreach to youth groups and other similar organizations in the surrounding area. Includes appearances at parades, community events and school functions. 7) Acts as the liaison between the dance team and band and athletic department. 8) Assists with the coordination of game operations for football, volleyball, soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, softball and baseball. 9) Develop new and creative ways to promote Catamount Athletics 10) Extensive night and weekend work required, community appearances, campus appearances, and creativity required. 11) Attendance and ticket sales goals to be established and employee evaluations to be based on achievement. 12) Supervise student hourly workers, student apprentices, and interns. Additional duties may include: 1) Be able to maintain and manage daily revenue deposits, credit card system transactions, online ticketing transactions and petty cash accountability. 2) Be able to reconcile ticket sales from events as needed and assist with ticket sales and daily operations of ticket office as directed.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required. Workdays are Sunday through Saturday. Extensive nights and weekend work required.
Experience with ticketing sales and software, marketing, event management or related field at the collegiate level preferred.
