The Digital Marketing and Design Assistant uses their experience in digital media and marketing design to execute website updates, email campaigns, and print and web design projects for the University of Chicago Press Journals Division. This position is part of our Journals Marketing team, which handles non-editorial content communication for more than 80 academic journals based on each titleâ™s unique strategic marketing needs. The person in this role will work with every member of our marketing team to complete essential web updates, design tasks, and reporting that serve our journals, editors, authors, and wider scholarly community.
This is a temporary full-time position through the end of January 2022.
Perform web updates using a content management system and html.
Work with our Marketing Managers and Senior Marketing Analyst to create new webpages in our content management system.
Create or update print advertisements, print collateral, giveaway imprints, and other print-based design, as directed by our Marketing Managers.
Create or update web advertisements, web design elements, or other digital assets, as directed by our Marketing Managers.
Prepare graphic assets for use in reporting.
Work with our Marketing Managers to create and distribute approximately ten mass marketing emails per month using the Emma email marketing software.
Work with our Marketing, Advertising, and Exhibits Manager to place web ads by updating HTML code through a content management systemâ™s ad server.
Work with external print, design, and promotional vendors at the direction of our Marketing Managers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of marketing material.
Use existing databases and tools to complete performance analysis that provides information about email open rates and click-through rates, and publicity performance.
Complete other related projects as requested by our Marketing team.

Education, Experience, or Certifications:
Associate degree required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.

Web editing using WYSIWYG editors, content management systems, and HTML.
Intermediate graphic design knowledge for web and print (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
Proficient in Microsoft office.
