The Assistant Director of Marketing will be an integral member of the Marketing team that develops and implements marketing strategies to engage Columbia College alumni through programs, events and service opportunities. This individual will work closely within the marketing team, and with internal partners, to support email strategy and marketing campaigns that drive towards alumni engagement and pipeline development for fundraising opportunities. This individual will support strategic marketing initiatives that build a strong and connected community that is deeply engaged with Columbia College and the Columbia College Alumni Association. In addition to email marketing, this individual will also provide support to the marketing team in the areas of basic graphic design, data analytics, copywriting and project management. Key partners from the College include Alumni Relations, Events & Programs, Student Communications, and Development, along with University partner teams across campus.
Work collaboratively with team and partners to support marketing strategies that drive to engagement and participation goals for alumni.
Collaborate with partners to shape email strategies for alumni engagement.
Manage email implementation in Salesforce system; build and deploy emails that drive increased brand awareness and alumni activation.
Support development of messaging strategies and copy for email and other channels, with a customer-centric approach and an eye towards relevance and clear calls to action.
Help to project manage campaigns or marketing initiatives, refining workflow and execution to be as efficient and high impact as possible.
Support data analytics that assess marketing impact and help to inform future strategies.
Track campaign performance and report out to support ongoing marketing enhancements.
Monitor and benchmark marketing and peer trends to share with team and partners.
Support marketing activities across the team that enhance alumni experience and journey, including basic graphic design, content research, project management and various other projects, as needed.
Help develop basic graphic assets to be used in email or social media that align to brand standards and campaign goals.
Help research and refine content used in marketing channels.
Support design of event registration user flow as part of customer journey for event marketing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelorâ€™s Degree and/or its equivalent required.
A minimum 2 to 4 years of marketing or communications experience.
Must be self-directed and curious, with an interest in learning and growth in the marketing space.
Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
Must be detail oriented, with excellent project management.

Familiarity with Google Analytics, email marketing systems, Google Suite, desktop publishing programs and Adobe suite preferred.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple responsibilities in high-volume, fast-paced environments, working collaboratively with people at all levels.
Strong visual aesthetic with intuitive understanding of customer experience and relevance.
Interested in learning and mastering innovative technologies.
Familiarity with higher education constituencies, structure and administration desirable.
Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar a plus.
