The Associate Director of Marketing will be an integral member of the Marketing team that develops and implements marketing strategies that engage Columbia College alumni through programs, events and service opportunities. This individual will work closely with programming and marketing partners across the College, particularly partners in Alumni Relations & Development, to build a strong and connected community that is deeply engaged with Columbia College and the Columbia College Alumni Association. This individual will develop marketing strategies that optimize social media and web channels and help to design and develop relevant content that enhance the sense of connection alumni feel to increase their participation, attendance, advocacy and the efficacy of future fundraising.
This individual will contribute thought leadership to planning processes and help to lead a variety of multi-channel campaigns and initiatives seeking to optimize user experience, increase marketing responsiveness and elevate overall alumni engagement. They will use data, innovation and storytelling as key components to developing thoughtful, results-oriented campaigns that grow our active user base, building a more robust and strong community in support of Columbia. Key partners from the College include Alumni Relations, Events & Programs, Student Communications, and Development, along with University partner teams across campus.
Work collaboratively to develop and implement strategic campaign plans that advance clear engagement goals, seamless user experiences and a consistent sense of support and connection to our audience.
Provide marketing expertise, integrating partner inputs and goals, to define campaign objectives and marketing strategies that optimize alumni engagement; develop integrated channel strategies; curate or create relevant content; refine segmentation and map out seamless customer journeys.
Act as project lead for campaigns or marketing initiatives, influencing and shaping user experience, content strategies, channel performance and ongoing results and refinement process to improve future strategies.
Manage project timelines, partner relationships, approval process and execution, independently but with strong collaborative spirit.
Develop creative and innovative campaign strategies that maximize user traffic and engagement through social and web channels
Review metrics for campaigns and key channels, updating dashboards, synthesizing key insights and recommendations to enhance future initiatives. Report on concluded campaigns, presenting results and learnings to key partners to refine work going forward.
Manage project timelines, partner relationships, approval process and final execution, independently but with strong collaborative spirit.
Oversee and manage social media channels for the Columbia College Alumni Association in close partnership with the Columbia College channels to maintain engagement and grow followership through relevant content strategy and marketing campaign integration.
With monthly editorial calendars and marketing strategy inputs, generate, edit, publish and share engaging content that elevates CCAA and College brand to grow awareness and drive to brand goals. Incorporate promotions, contests, take-overs and more.
Execute social media components of integrated digital marketing campaigns.
Engage with and respond to followers in channels, to drive engagement and satisfaction.
Monitor and benchmark channel trends and track channel and drive-to metrics.
Enhance web-based marketing strategies and overall web experience to support CCAA brand and to optimize role of web in driving engagement results with alumni and students. Own web content strategy, web integration with marketing campaigns and feature innovations.
Collaborate with team and partners to develop, create, and manage engaging content that aligns with our brand strategy, and addresses brand and engagement goals.
Develop and research effective methods for presenting content on the web to elevate user journey and experience.
Analyze user engagement, optimize web properties in search and support multi-channel strategies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelorâ€™s Degree and/or its equivalent required.
A minimum 3-5 years of social media, marketing or communications experience.
Must be a self-directed strategic thinker skilled at critical, analytical and creative thinking while also comfortable with hands-on production, as necessary.
Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
Ability to write, simplify complex information into easy-to-digest content, and to craft storytelling strategies a must.
Must be detail oriented, with excellent project management and the ability to think creatively while working both independently and as part of a team.

Masterâ€™s Degree in Communication, Journalism, Higher Education or related field preferred, ideally with experience in complex organizations.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple responsibilities in high-volume, fast-paced environments, working collaboratively with people at all levels.
Strong visual aesthetic with intuitive understanding of a range of multimedia content, excellent design, and adherence to best practices.
Able to stay abreast of state-of-the-art techniques and technologies.
Familiarity with higher education constituencies, structure and administration desirable.
Familiar with Google Analytics, Microsoft Office, desktop publishing programs and Adobe suite preferred.
