The Digital Content Strategist will report to the Digital Content Manager to create, coordinate, evaluate, edit, maintain, publish, and make important decisions about digital content on the UTHSC website and official social media channels on a university-wide basis. The Digital Content Strategist will regularly report on website analytics to the Digital Content Manager, research new opportunities to expand the digital communications capabilities of UTHSC, enforce brand and content standards, and serve as a "content ambassador" to the rest of the UTHSC community by encouraging and supporting ongoing engagement with the website and official social media channels. The Digital Content Strategist will guide digital content development across campus by being available for advice and content development assistance to faculty, staff, and students across campus. In addition to website and social media duties, the Digital Content Strategist will manage the photography and videography needs of the university and make decisions about the direction, style, lighting, editing, and archiving of photos and videos.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates, coordinates, evaluates, edits, maintains, and publishes content on the UTHSC website and social media accounts.
Works with Digital Content Manager to make decisions on website design, strategy, elements, functionality.
Manages the UTHSC Webmaster email account and acts as an approver for website users to ensure accessibility and brand compliance.
Collaborates and plans website updates with partners in Information Technology Services
Creates social media content and posts for the main UTHSC channels - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn
Works closely with the Digital Content Manager in regards to position of posts and campaigns
Works with Communications Coordinators to plan social media and website content to promote the mission of the University.
Meets with various clients within the university to establish their website and social media needs.
Manages photography and videography needs for the University and its units, including coordination of freelancers and the Communications and Marketing staff taking photos/video; this is a high visibility function for the university.
Plans and executes photo shoots for press releases and publications.
Takes photographs for website and social media content, and other university needs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
