Certificate and degree-related programs, community partnerships, public-service lectures, arts and cultural performances, and civic and special events meet rapidly evolving academic, specialist, and personal enrichment needs.
As an integral part of UC San Diego, UC San Diego Extension programs are developed in partnership with community partners and advisory boards and taught by working professionals who adhere to the same rigor and standard of excellence upheld by the University. UC San Diego Extension is fully self-supporting, operating with a budget of $47 million annually, has over 200 career employees, including academic, management, staff and executive, as well as represented and non-represented positions. In addition, Extension employs more than 1,000 instructors. Extension owns and operates in the new UC San Diego downtown Center (opening Fall 2021), as well as on- and off-campus, including a large off-campus classroom facility.
UC San Diego Extension Marketing Department is responsible for all marketing and communications needs across UC San Diego Extension, including Education and Community Outreach, Continuing and Professional Education, Public Programs, and the Dean's Office, as well as community and campus and partnerships and the future UC San Diego Downtown Center.
The Marketing Strategist is responsible for researching, informing, developing, and communicating strategic marketing plans to meet the organizational, program, and product goals. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Strategist will lead the development and optimization of omni-channel marketing efforts for UC San Diego Extension's institutional campaigns and product campaigns and will collaborate with multifunctional teams to execute them.
Analyze market data and allocate budgets to meet revenue and enrollment targets. Measure outcomes of marketing campaigns to make strategic adjustments. Perform and analyze market research to identify trends and innovate creative ideas to promote Extension's brand and products. Establish and maintain relationships with partners and marketing professionals.
Thorough experience with communication principles, media, and marketing techniques. Practically applied experience and knowledge building and deploying comprehensive marketing strategies and omni-channel campaigns designed to increase web traffic, leads, revenue and awareness. Foundational understanding of all mediums, including web, PR, Creative Services, digital, advertising, and offline channels.
Demonstrated experience developing, allocating, analyzing, and overseeing large marketing budgets.
Thorough experience using marketing mediums and funding sources. Proven experience developing clear and straight forward objectives for all marketing channels and mediums including media buying. Strong acumen in both offline and digital marketing.
Proven experience with researching, analyzing, and evaluating marketing data and budgets to make strategic marketing plans and optimizations to meet objectives and financial targets.
Experience performing market research to identify trends and new market opportunities. Proven experience using market
