The Communications Coordinator will provide a variety of communications support to the Gary W. Rollins College of Business (RCOB) through program coordination and projects. The Communications Coordinator supports the implementation of the department's strategic communications plan by researching, creating and implementing effective and innovative communications including original publications, articles, graphics, briefing materials, web content, press releases, social media content and employee messaging. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and works directly with faculty and other staff within the College of Business and personnel in other areas of campus, as needed.
Management of the Web Site and Social Media channels for RCOB Supports the Director of Marketing and Communications, Dean, Associate Deans, faculty and staff to develop, design and maintain the overall College of Business web site and sites for affiliated departments and groups; coordinates the editorial calendar, creates content, maintains the College of Business brand and is responsible for the day-to-day content creation and monitoring for a variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and others; make decisions related to responding to questions and other feedback on social media platforms and reports unusual problems to manager.
Coordinates the RCOB Communication Plan with oversight by Director Supports public relations activities designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for the College of Business; manages the College of Business portion of the CRM and assists with recruiting participants for the college's undergraduate, graduate, certificate, leadership and summer programs; assists with coordination and creation of the monthly College of Business e-newsletter and internal communications; helps plan and direct the development and communication of information designed to keep public informed on College of Business programs, accomplishments, or point of view; works with the Director of Marketing and Communications to prepare and distribute fact sheets, news releases, photographs, scripts, video to media representatives and other persons who may be interested in learning about or publicizing departmental activities or messages; researches data, create ideas, writes copy, lay out artwork, take photographs, or contact media representatives; responsible for updating contact lists, tracking department expenditures, managing promotional and printed materials.
Alumni Relations and event planning, support and coordination Coordinates alumni programs and communication designed to meet College of Business objectives, assists with planning and coordination of special events such as the Student Recognition Ceremony, College of Business Day (Down with the Dean), Elevator Pitch Competition, Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, Veterans Entrepreneurship Program Closing Event, and other events; responsible for creation of and serving as the lead on some events; manages the creation of electronic and printed invitations and setting up events using constituent management platform, creating and managing invitation lists, writing and designing programs and other event materials, event promotion, etc.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Excellent communications, organizational and multi-tasking skills to prioritize work to meet deadlines and handle urgent matters while staying on task with other assigned duties and responsibilities
Experience with Social media strategy and content creation, CRM and website management, email marketing, and copy writing for a variety of audiences
Knowledge of the Adobe Design Suite (particularly InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator), Camtasia, and photography skills are preferred.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related field; one to three years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, website design/management, or other related fields. Specialized training in a communications or marketing field may substitute for experience.
