Part-Time Student IMU Late Nite Marketing Manager

Department INDIANA MEMORIAL UNION (BA-IMAU-IUBLA) Department Information The Student Involvement and Leadership Center (SILC) supports co-curricular life at Indiana University Bloomington. With that in mind, the SILC staff's principal responsibility is to advise, mentor, and prepare students (Indiana Memorial Union Board, student employees, etc.) to be responsible leaders in the execution of their obligations to the IMU and the university. The initiation and execution of co-curricular programs and services that support students, employees, alumni and university guests is a vital component of the SILC office. Job Summary The marketing manager works to promote and generate awareness for the IU Late Nite program series at the Indiana Memorial Union. This position primarily manages and distributes all marketing materials related to Late Nite, a weekly Friday series composed of musicians, entertainment, DIY crafts, novelties, comedians, bowling, and more planned for Indiana University students and guests. As a member of the team, you will develop effective marketing strategies to boost brand awareness and event attendance, conduct target audience research, oversee the creation of marketing materials, and consistently envision new ways to expand the Late Nite brand. The ideal marketing manager will not only develop effective strategies, but will go above and beyond to adjust their strategies to match current trends among students. This position is expected to work in cooperation with the event coordinator and outreach coordinator to assign marketing-related tasks to event assistants as necessary. In addition, the Marketing Manager keeps their team up-to-date on research findings and discussing their implications for future events. Essential job functions:
Required Qualifications Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University pursuing a degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related field. Driven go-getter, obsessed with finding new ways to succeed. Effective communication skills. Ability to work as part of team. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Premier). Ability to apply basic principles of design/photography to creative work. Willingness to go above and beyond assigned duties to aid the Late Nite mission. Work Location Indiana Memorial Union 900 E 7th Street Room L015 Bloomington, Indiana 47405 Work Hours Approximately 12-15 hours are required each week for this position, depending on the size and amount of events that are planned.
