Zulily is seeking an entrepreneurial Director of Performance Marketing to lead our paid acquisition and retention efforts across major and emerging ad platforms. This leader will be subject matter expert who is data-oriented yet also exercises high judgement. Their goal will be to build a healthy, well-diversified marketing portfolio while optimizing for incremental customer lifetime value.
The Director of Performance Marketing will own the paid direct response channels for Zulily. Reporting to the CMO, the role will be responsible for building and leading a team in the development, testing, and execution of strategies that will generate incremental value over time. They should be comfortable being hands-on when necessary, while instilling a culture of learning, experimentation, and good judgement.
What You'll Do:
Lead the Paid Ads team in developing and executing a robust performance marketing strategy
Drive a roadmap designed to drive sustainable, healthy customer acquisition and retention
Lead digital marketing efforts across paid social, paid search, programmatic, paid mobile/app, SEO, video, and emerging channels
Oversee the planning, development and execution of a growing marketing budget, with a holistic, results-oriented approach
Report performance to senior leadership on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, highlighting opportunities or trends for continuous improvement
Partner closely with peers across the organization including the Outbound, Affiliates, Brand, Creative, and Product teams, maximizing customer lifetime value
10+ years of experience in performance marketing. Expertise with Facebook / Google / App Stores and similar performance marketing platforms, including some experience managing relationships with external partners for those platforms
Experience hiring and managing managers, and leading high-performing teams
Proven ability to utilize qualitative and quantitative data to develop actionable insights, and experience working through cross-channel effects
Ability to think strategically across the short, medium, and long term, while obsessing over the details, and a love of investigating evolving trends and technology to serve your brand
Experience overseeing a large marketing budget, and holistically managing spend allocation across channels
Thoughtful, collaborative leadership with strong communication skills and the ability to influence others
Nice-to-have: Experience with a B2C and/or lead-generation
Nice-to-have: Experience with SQL
