The Office of Marketing and Communications designs and implements a comprehensive, unified marketing and communications effort for the Haas School of Business and its degree and non-degree instructional programs. The Office is responsible for managing the school's brand image by providing strategic marketing and communications advice and planning to the Dean, the Dean's Council, program directors, other senior staff throughout the School.
The Marketing Communications Specialist is passionate about connecting with the target audience through copy on an emotional level. The incumbent will produce email and website content to build awareness of the Berkeley MBA, and attract, nurture, and convert prospective MBA students into applicants. The position reports to the Director of Program Marketing and Analytics.
Produces written communication and layout for a variety of mediums.
Craft engaging content that can be used across channels.
Manage the day-to-day execution of website and email campaigns, including writing copy, Q/A testing, sourcing creative assets, segmenting leads, publishing webpages, launching email, and reporting on marketing metrics.
Assist with website maintenance to ensure we are providing prospective students with timely, accurate and actionable information.
Meets and consults with clients on a variety of digital communications projects including moderately complex assignments; develops, presents, and recommends web content, site architecture and visual material.
Work with stakeholders in graduate Admissions and Program offices, and members of the Haas Marketing and Communications team to adhere to email and content marketing best practices.
Accountable for ensuring technical accuracy and understandability of web content.
Maintains Berkeley Haas brand across all programs, campaigns and projects. Helps to develop Haas School policies, style guides and standards in all marketing material.
Maintains currency with emerging and state-ofthe-art technical and other web-related equipment, requirements and developments (for example, accessibility issues) and recommends and as directed, takes action to ensure compliance.
Identify opportunities for marketing personalization and suggest strategies to leverage personalization in email and website content.
Design A/B tests and other optimization initiatives to improve marketing metrics.
Strong written and verbal skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Thorough knowledge of content management systems and / or relevant web applications used for web production.
Thorough knowledge of writing clear, concise marketing messages for email and web. Ability to harness analytic insights to create personalized messages that drive intended behavior and keep with management directives and client objectives.
Thorough technical skills in computer applications for web production, image handling, publishing and design, illustration, presentation preparation, animation, web interaction, and / or other state-of-the-art web communication capabilities.
Strong teamwork and thorough interpersonal communication skills.
Thorough skills to develop and implement original ideas and correctly identify and effectively solve problems. Strong attention to detail, and exhibits a high degree of ownership and accountability.
Experience working with Email Service Providers (HubSpot a plus, Marketo, MailChimp, etc.) and Customer Relationship Management software (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.)
Thorough understanding of technical language and requirements of the assigned work.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Thorough understanding or the ability to learn quickly organization's processes, procedures, and applicable rules and regulations for web communications.
Strong experience working with HTML and CSS.
Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of design and user experience, including skill to design in an appealing, lively and relevant way.
HubSpot Inbound Marketing certification.
Salary & Benefits
This is an exempt, monthly paid position. Annual salary is commensurate with experience up to $98,900.00
