The Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for developing and implementing the long-term marketing & communication strategy for the IASA brand. Responsibilities include planning, development and implementation of all IASA marketing strategies and marketing communications, both external and internal to the insurance accounting in.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Articulates and promotes the mission, vision and identity of the IASA
Communicates the value of Insurance Accounting to various target audiences
Creates and curates new, engaging content for distribution through various channels (web, media, mail) at regular intervals
Creates, implements and measures the success of a comprehensive marketing and communications program that will enhance the IASA image and position within the marketplace
Facilitates internal and external communications
Manages the strategic and creative design of the IASA marketing and communications activities and materials
Manages the implementation of the marketing and communications plan through integration with the IASA staff
Ensures articulation of IASA image and position, assures consistent communication of image and position throughout the Insurance Accounting Community and assures communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external
Coordinates media interest in the IASA and ensures regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests
Coordinates the appearance of all IASA print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.
Develops, coordinates and assists various departments in the marketing, communications and positioning of their activities
Ensures that IASA regularly conducts relevant market research, and coordinates/oversees this activity
Leads special projects as assigned by the Executive Director, such as special events, re-branding/logo development, etc.
At least five years of management experience, three of which must have included supervising project and team activities.
Non-Profit Association experience
A track record of hands-on implementation of successful communication programs, digital or otherwise, ideally including leveraging social media to enhance reputation management, drive organization objectives, engage influencers and the media and build new audiences for organization content and key messages
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing or Communications
Must possess strong computer skills and experience with desktop publishing programs
Extensive experience in writing, editing and full circle production
Must be accurate and attentive to detail
Self-starter, resourceful and comfortable working in a small team environment where both daily interaction and self-sufficiency are essential
A passion for all things digital and the ever-changing social media landscape
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Must have excellent communication and public relations abilities
Able to problem-solve in new and difficult situations
Must be willing to travel
Must be willing to endure flexible schedule
