The Manager, Marketing Automation (MA), within the Office of Marketing, Recruitment and Enrollment Operations (MREO) is responsible for oversight of the marketing automation platform, with focus on executing, maintaining, and measuring the effectiveness of student engagement journeys, and provide recommendations for enhancement and optimization. The Manager will collaborate with Marketing to set goals, execute marketing automation strategies and prospective student journeys consistent with the overall marketing strategy. The Manager will work closely with the Administrator, CRM to build reporting and dashboards to measure effectiveness of standard student journeys as well as ad hoc programs and campaigns. The Manager will report to the Director, Performance Management.
Administration and management of our Pardot and Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementations.
Develop, implement, and optimize marketing automation strategy and plans. Inclusive of mapping and execution of custom marketing/communication journeys for prospective students at different points of the recruitment/admissions funnel.
Manage the implementation of strategic audiences and personalization of student journeys within marketing automation to increase effectiveness in qualified lead conversion, reduction of melt in later admission stages, promote the SGU experience, and maximize return.
Provide recommendations and information to increase brand awareness, optimize qualified student acquisition, enhance constituent engagement, and improve conversion.
Coordinate the timing and consistency of all outbound email, including promotional, lead nurturing, transactional, customer service and corporate.
Identify new MA platform features and capabilities that support the overall marketing strategy; work with Marketing to develop timelines, functional requirements and ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Collaborate with Manager, Web & Digital on the integration with and optimization of web properties for tracking campaign sources of incoming leads.
Development and management of dashboards used to measure the ongoing effectiveness of customer journeys, ongoing campaigns, or ad hoc campaigns
Ensure required data is captured at all customer touchpoints and accurate synchronization between Pardot, Marketing Cloud, and CRM dashboards
Provide MREO management with operational and strategic reporting and analysis regarding the success of marketing automation initiatives; collaborate with Marketing team to create and maintain operation and functional metrics related to the MA platform.
Analysis and continued optimization of lead scoring methodology.
Implement A/B testing on new journeys and marketing campaigns to maximize results.
Continuously develop and improve the email marketing strategy; contact strategy (e.g., customers and prospects), segmentation, lifecycle management, personalization, A/B testing, contact timing, frequency and content; creative optimization that will engage new customers.
Quality assurance testing to ensure effective, accurate and error-free execution of content.
Along with IT and Project Management, manage key milestones and deliverables associated with the implementation and management of MA for Marketing, Recruitment and Enrollment Operations (MREO).
Communicate details of fixes, enhancements, and new capabilities on the platform to MREO staff and management.
Stay current on technological advances relevant to supporting efficient MA processes; lead the identification and promotion of marketing automation best practices.
Work collaboratively with other areas to ensure that marketing automation strategies achieve strategic objectives.
Perform other related duties as required.

Computer skills including MS Office suite.
Proficiency in HTML and CSS for responsive email design.
Experience with Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Pardot preferred.
Experience with marketing automation platforms required.
3-5 years of marketing automation experience (Pardot/Marketing Cloud experience preferred)
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or Technology preferred.
Marketing Cloud/Pardot certifications preferred.
Experience deploying marketing automation in Higher Education is preferred.

A typical work week consists of 37.5 hours, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm.
