DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Natividad currently has a full-time opportunity for a Director of Marketing and Community Relations to be responsible for establishing and maintaining ongoing marketing and public relations efforts in line with the hospital's strategic plans for marketing position, image enhancement and short-term service/program promotions.
Examples of Duties:
Coordinates all phases of marketing services or products, including program/service definition, researching and estimating customer interest, recommending pricing, promotional and distribution strategies.
Confers with Hospital Administrator, departmental/service managers on new program development or enhancement of existing services.
Participates with senior management in developing long-range, strategic and business plans; schedules promotions and advertising campaigns for maximum effectiveness in context of the hospital's long-range and specific objectives.
Enhances hospital image by designing pamphlets, fliers and advertisements for hospital services and programs; coordinates development, production and dissemination of advertisements, direct mail, fliers, newsletters, fact sheets and other announcements; coordinates special events such as tours, displays, open houses, promotional and fund raining events.
Establishes and maintains positive relations with media and advertising managers; prepares and releases news stories, official statements, public service announcements and feature articles. Serves as information resources and represents the hospital on topics of media interest.
Researches data on potential markets and/or customer groups; monitors area media and advertising coverage related to the hospital; measures and analyzes results of specific promotional efforts; works with senior management to develop program for marketing to physicians.
Develops annual marketing, publicity and special events budget; supervises expenditures related to advertising and promotional activities.
Represents the hospital at meetings and public functions to solicit funding and/or explain available programs and services.
Minimum qualifications include BA or MA in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications or related field and 3-5 years of experience in a position directly related to community and public relations with at least two years in a healthcare or medical setting. Media experience in the areas of television, radio, publications and newspapers is desired.
