Provide classroom instruction, prepare and update curriculum, and evaluate student performance.
Advise students, recruit and promote the program, and oversee instructional supplies.
Maintain appropriate professional and instructional credentials through professional development.
Participate in activities that provide service to the college and the community including committee assignments, promotion and outreach activities, co-curricular student activities and other needs within the department.
Some travel is necessary (approximately 10%)
The applicant (the employee) should demonstrate a knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, business management or business education.
Occupational Experience Requirement
Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in sales and marketing.
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Knowledge and experience in topic areas of: marketing principles, professional sales, management issues, personal finance, e-commerce, customer service, entrepreneurship, and merchandise management.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and carry out department activities outside the scheduled class meeting times with activities such as recruitment, field trips, advisory board meetings, and continuous professional development.
Ability, experience and desire to use and distribute alternative instruction techniques and delivery methods through online education by developing and implementing online courses.
Ability to actively engage, motivate and demonstrate commitment to the academic needs of traditional and non-traditional students in a diverse student population who have a broad range of interests and abilities.
