The IU Office of the Vice President for Communications and Marketing seeks a CRM Database Marketing Leader. This person will report directly to the CRM Architect and will be tasked with helping evolve our usage of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) through database marketing and campaign management. This role will manage a team tasked with managing day-to-day email marketing data requests for partners to use in their email campaigns. Translates plain-language requests into complex SQL queries and segmentation and supports on-time delivery of requests. Plans campaign setup, manages data architecture in SFMC, and reduces friction between campaign inception and execution. Recommends A/B and multivariate testing, segments data to support testing, and provides analytics and insights upon completion of testing.
This role will also work closely with and provide business and technical requirements to database owners and other marketing technology platform owners. Provides data requirements for use in SFMC and guide how data is ingested into Marketing Cloud. Gives input on how data is structured within SFMC to ensure data is well organized, easy to access, and accurate over time. Establishes relationships with data stewards, data managers, development teams, and departmental and school stakeholders to understand and establish technical and operational business requirements that guide usage of data within and around SFMC. Develops processes for ensuring data security adheres to university policies and all governmental legal requirements (e.g. HIPPA, FERPA, GDPR, CASL, etc). Works with complex data in a relational database environment.
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, MIS, Informatics, Computer Science, or similar disciplines and five years of experience in database marketing, SQL, test/learn frameworks, CRM, Marketing Automation, leading teams, data management.

Comfortable working within a matrix organization with discrete brand teams and shared resource teams. Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, MIS, Informatics, Computer Science, or similar disciplines. Two years of managerial experience.
