Lead and manage staff—both direct reports and others on the MarCom team—in the planning, development, and execution of marketing, communications, and promotional campaigns that meet strategic goals. Provide direction and project management for staff as they work collaboratively with internal and external customers to understand needs, offer guidance, prepare marketing communication plans, implement impactful programs, and track/report measurable results. Champion efforts strengthen CHEST’s marketplace position through effective internal and external marketing communications campaigns and strategies. Leverage cross-channel communication strategies and diverse media—including electronic and print communication, social media, web, and public relations—while encouraging a “digital-first” culture.
Manage the marketing communications staff to ensure the talent, environment, culture, budget and processes support the expectations and strategic requirements of CHEST. Provide team leadership, vendor management and support.
Ensure the timely and cost-effective promotion of CHEST events and educational products and courses, and new products/offerings through cross-channel communication strategies, including direct mail, email, social media, environmental branding and microsite development, to ensure registration goals and marketing needs for all courses are met.
Oversee staff on the planning, organizing, managingand executing of key communications, including the weekly CHEST Newsbrief member newsletter, annual meeting CHEST Daily News, and other communication vehicles.
Oversee and maintain project schedules, prioritized calendar and plans for all promotional campaigns. Develop concise marketing and creative briefs to enable team to identify and take advantage of opportunities for cross promotion efforts, and ensure consistent messaging and brand positioning across channels.
Serve as counsel to other CHEST Divisions, partnering to understand customer objectives and marketing communications requirements. Prepare marketing communication plans including concepts, tactical plans, schedules, and cost estimates. Provide advice and guidance to cost-effectively meet customer objectives.
Develop and execute direct mail and email campaigns; manage mail list acquisition and analysis of promotion effectiveness. Identify and cultivate target market opportunities—existing and new, to drive business results.
Create strong marketing messages and copy in collaboration with internal customers and MarCom teammates for a variety of project types including: brochures, direct mail, print advertising, publications, emails, web content, social media and other digital media channels—audio and video.
Employs project management tools within marketing communications to assist direct reports with successful project completion.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
6+ years experience managing multi-channel marketing communication efforts in the healthcare or association space.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams of cross-divisional staff to meet defined goals.
Demonstrated project management skills with ability to manage multiple print and electronic projects simultaneously to achieve strategic objectives. Experience with project management software tools preferred.

Exceptional written communication skills and highly effective verbal communications.
Ability to independently learn new technologies and employ them for communications.
Proficiency in Google Drive, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint in a Mac environment.
Ability to accommodate occasional travel.
