The Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) is seeking a highly motivated, proactive individual to serve as Director of Marketing and Communications in its new headquarters office in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.
The Director works collaboratively with SDPA members and staff to develop a strategic, multi-tiered communications and marketing plan for SDPA programs, products and services.
Develop communications and marketing plan for the association detailing the needs of all departments with timelines and costs associated with the deliverables.
Plan, direct or coordinate public relations and marketing policies and programs for the association.
Develop and manage internal marketing and communications calendar.
Consult on marketing decisions, including product launches and branding.
Enforce brand standards and guidelines.
Manage vendors related to marketing, communications and graphic design.
Review all marketing graphics and materials before print or web publication.
Implement and measure success of marketing campaigns.
Write content for member e-newsletter; managing layout and dissemination using SDPA's bulk email system; creating and managing all other email copy, creation, design and sponsorship brand recognition.
Create compelling content for the web, social media and other digital platforms.
Write promotional copy for web, digital, and print materials, as well as press releases.
Establish and maintain website content standards and corporate style guide.
Provide copyediting, photo collection and archiving, plus online posting of blogs and podcasts.
Coordinate, track and fulfill dermcast.tv media packages. Maintain and develop dermcast.tv partnership prospectus.
Coordinate with public relations firm regarding public awareness campaign social media strategy and web presence.
Act as project manager for all video and publishing projects.
Manage SDPA's social media accounts and develop social media presence.
Monitor trends that indicate the need for new marketing strategies.
Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies established by each department.
Evaluate the financial aspects or return-on-investment for each marketing program.
Provide insights and analysis of SDPA digital properties using a variety of analytics tools.
Expand and develop marketing platforms including social media platforms.
Degree in communications, marketing, or related field.
2-3 years supervisory experience required.
3-5 years marketing/communications experience with a nonprofit/trade association.
Proven experience in identifying target audiences and developing creative marketing campaigns that inspire, educate and motivate.
Experience managing multiple social media channels for an organization and/or public campaign.
Sold knowledge of website analytics tools like Google Analytics or Webtrends.
An appreciation for brand identity and love of great copy including AP style.
Experience with YourMembership AMS preferred.
Experience with MailChimp bulk email system, iTunes podcasting, Vimeo, BluBrry and Adobe Photoshop preferred.
