Binghamton University seeks a Digital Marketing Specialist who would work within the Office of University Communications and Marketing.
The Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for managing paid search campaigns and paid digital media (including paid social, video, display and re-targeting efforts), optimization of those digital media activities and reporting on performance. This position will work with the Associate Vice President of Communications and Marketing, Undergraduate Admissions and The Graduate School to align digital marketing campaigns with the enrollment plan for both undergraduate and graduate admissions.
The Digital Marketing Specialist will have at least 2 years of hands-on digital marketing experience with a record of achieving proven results in highly competitive spaces. Candidates will possess a strong understanding of all areas considered digital marketing, primarily for lead generation across major search and social platforms. The chosen candidate will be a creative thinker who can work through digital marketing problems gracefully, and have a highly analytical mindset where data is utilized to solve digital marketing problems.
A bachelor's degree is required
2 plus years of hands-on digital marketing experience. Deep knowledge and extensive experience in all areas of digital marketing
Write effective digital ads across search and social media that engage audiences and drive conversion in-line
Responsible for creating and managing Pay Per Click (PPC) search campaigns for specific degree programs
Responsible for creating and managing paid social media campaigns for specific degree programs
Responsible for requesting creative ads as well as developing and testing ads, including display and text ads, constantly seeking to refine ads that lead to the biggest return on investment
Maintain multiple budgets and invoice spreadsheets
Conduct bid management analysis and adjustments based on available data
Developing strategies for cost effective growth and improving lead generation acquisition
Assisting in report building, report development, data analysis and reviewing analytics for key opportunities
Responsible for placing digital display ads and optimizing placements
Requesting creative as well as assisting in ideation of creative concepts and messaging
Coordinate web re-targeting efforts. Implement and manage re-targeting lists and conversion strategies
A team player that is able to share both their own knowledge as well as what they learn from experimentation within the team environment
Strong understanding of analytics and Microsoft Excel. Must be able to develop easily understandable reports
Must be able to write compelling copy for both the web and social media, while proofreading for spelling, grammatical errors and University style
Organized and calm under pressure when dealing with multiple ongoing projects
