Job duties include the main marketing contact for Women’s Basketball and Volleyball marketing. The position is responsible for the creation and execution of marketing strategies, promotional plans and advertising campaigns with the goal of attendance generation, develop and execute in-game promotions and events to create an exciting atmosphere that enhances the fan experience and competitive advantage, community outreach, social media strategy, all aspects of marketing event presentation activities including promotion, game scripts and timelines, manage videoboard content, manage sponsor inventory, collaborate with various internal and external constituents, including student organizations to increase student attendance and maintaining budgets. Work in a team environment to support the other 20 Utah Athletic teams. Actively participate in the strategy of the direction of the marketing department with collaboration and forward thinking, innovative mindset. Generate attendance and atmosphere at Women’s Basketball and Volleyball events while representing the Utah Athletics brand in a positive manner. Work with community groups, recreational teams, and non-profit organizations to create mutually beneficial relationships that result in increased attendance. Develop strategic marketing plans and all collateral materials to support the efforts of the Olympic sports. Schedule national anthem singers, entertaining performances & acts during event breaks, and VIP’s to throw out the first pitch/serve/dive. Create engaging fan-interactive promotions, that builds a connection between the fans and teams. Build a positive and effective working relationship with the coaches, staff, departments, community, and fans. Write public address scripts, game logs, detailed timelines, organize fan friendly music and execute all game-day activities. Coordinate player feature videos, introduction videos, and headshots to be played on the video board at Women’s Basketball and Volleyball. Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year directly related experience or equivalency required. Demonstrate effective communication, superior customer service skills and work well in a positive team environment. Demonstrate ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to the best interest in growing the program. Strong coordination and organizational skills required. Passion for growing sports and investing in highly successful programs. Must have working knowledge and experience with Web design, InDesign, Photoshop, Fireworks, HTML and graphic design.
Master’s degree preferred. Preferred 3 years of experience. Some creative writing skills for short blog-type postings on social media platforms will be considered valuable. Knowledge of local community groups, non-profit organizations, & recreational clubs, would be considered valuable.
