The Director of Tourism Sales & Marketing is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of a portfolio of client relationships. We are a seeking strong leader who thrives under pressure, and is an expert at cultivating strong business partnerships with clients. This individual must be strategic, highly-organized, and driven to achieve. They will have an opportunity to contribute to the overall office culture of MMGY Global Los Angeles with Myriad being one of the agencies three brands that operate from this location.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Daily management of account teams across multiple tourist board clients
Develop and facilitate strategic integrated marketing plans;
Lead team and client meetings;
Establish and manage client budget and achieve agency billing goals;
Determine how to effectively utilize internal agency resources (channel planning, consumer insights, media, creative, promotions, production, interactive/web development, eCRM, analytics, etc.) to optimize client plans and results;
Cultivate team mentality and build strong mutual trust between client and agency;
Overseeing client KPI goals to ensure client targets are meet:
Manage staff resources, time allocations, annual reviews:
Develop industry partnerships for the benefit of the client and agency:
Contribute to the overall development of Myriad in North America as part of the larger MMGY Global family
Contribute to the overall Los Angeles office culture
Domestic and international travel is required
10+ years of tourism industry experience in a marketing role:
Experience managing direct reports;
Experience in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans:
Excellent understanding of marketing metrics;
Knowledge of the travel distribution channels strongly desired:
Experience in managing international tourist board activities strongly desired;
Must be highly effective at mentoring junior staff members;
Strong leadership skills and ability to establish trust and partnerships;
Excellent phone, verbal and written communication skills;
Senior-level presentation skills are a must;
Proofreading and attention to detail;
Comfortable working under tight deadlines;
Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
