Job Summary/Basic Function: Job Summary: Provide administrative and project support to the College of Business Marketing Office. Position will liaise with the following areas and the College of Business Marketing Manager to enhance the College of Business Brand; Admissions and Recruitment, Career and Professional Development, Event Management, University Advancement, Student Engagement, Study Abroad, Scholarships, Web, and Social Media. Branding standards will need to align with the Office of Marketing and Communications policies. Position will report directly to the College of Business Marketing and Communications Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Marketing Manager in creating and implementing a strategic marketing plan for the College of Business.
Contribute to a strong and consistent College of Business social media presence across all platforms.
Write articles for the College of Business Magazine and other promotional and public relations material.
Keep accurate records of current and upcoming university and College of Business events
Assist with promotion and execution of College of Business events.
Take pictures for advertisements and at events.
Attend recruiting events on behalf of the college.
Lead individual student tours for prospective students.
Develop and distribute printed materials, such as posters and flyers
Assume daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the office's activities.
Handle all room reservations for College of Business events.
Process and track all purchase orders.
Keep promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements; inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. Research pricing and vendors to determine best value.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Standards: All work must be performed in a manner consistent with the COB mission and its goals and objectives. All work must be performed in a manner consistent with the universitys mission. All work will be performed in accordance with Lamar University Policy.
Required Education: Associates degree, bachelors degree in marketing, public relations or communication preferred.
Required Experience: 1 year(s) of related job experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, creative problem-solving skills, and demonstrated skills in oral and written communication Ability to multitask and prioritize. Experience writing content for various platforms. Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships within the College of Business and external entities. Ability to think creatively and outside of the box. Excellent Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn new software. Ability to work and communicate well with administration and other campus populations.
