The Marketing Director is a full-time position based in the ECNL headquarters. The Marketing Director will create and manage internal and external communications on behalf of the league, including news creation on topics of interest, and generate publicity and awareness of the league and its programs. The Marketing Director reports directly to the ECNL Commissioner.
Marketing & Brand: Develop the ECNL brand to be the most admired brand in youth sports, with comprehensive messaging, communications and branding aligned with the league’s core values and supported through all marketing channels, and influencing the messaging and branding of each member club.
Oversee the creation, execution, and implementation of the marketing campaign creative process in conjunction with key stakeholders
Oversee the Media Planning Calendar and Communications Calendar to ensure timely, efficient and appropriate communications on all platforms
Represent the brand in line with the mission of the league in all communication
Grow the brand through planning, communication and social strategies
Manage all digital collateral including Brand Plan Decks, Marketing Decks for Membership, Partner/Sponsor Decks, and Social Media Toolkits
Website Management: Manage a professional website with sharp and innovative graphics, frequently updated with a diverse set of stories and news to increase traffic and interest in the league, with comprehensive and easy to understand information for users regarding league programs and events.
Management - Develop graphics, stories and press releases, update and refresh links, pages and content
Updating new widgets, applications and ways to showcase content and information
Social Media: Create social media content and planning that resonates with the league mission and marketing campaign, inspires participation and sharing from users, and increases follower and engagement.
Manage social media content and planning
Oversee day-to-day social media presence (Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat), including engagement with followers/clubs, answering direct messages and creating unique content
Secure takeovers and other creative engagement strategies (Snapchat)
Newsletters & Press Releases: Create clear, sharp, and easy to read newsletters and press releases that highlight impactful stories and events from around the league, with increasing open and click rates as well as growing distribution list.
Create and manage Newsletters - Boys | Girls | Player | Event
Develop releases and marketing for all major ECNL events/announcements, including without limitation, Amazing Young Women/S’Heroes, College Impact, National Letter of Intent Day, Conference Previews, Club and Player profiles and stories
Events: Create and implement a communications plan that tells a unique story for every ECNL event with engagement from the majority of clubs and players at the event.
Manage social media staff for events
Create an extensive Media Content Plan
Oversee marketing staff at events as well as actively work onsite updating social media and website
Complete post-event social media review
Plan and coordinate all aspects of the Playoffs Live Draw and related event marketing
Graphics: Creation and development of images, marks, and graphics that align with the league’s value of innovation and excellence, and resonate with the youth soccer player and related demographics.
Create graphics for print such as AYW Store, giveaway items, hotel keycards, medals, plaques/certificates, referee coins, bag tags, credentials and apparel
Create and assist with marketing decks
Create templates and assets for member clubs
Create logos for initiatives other than campaign/events
Practical experience in marketing creative preferably sports marketing
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year institution
A previous coaching diploma or license is not required to apply for this position
Additional Salary Information: Salary commensurate with experience, payable monthly. The ECNL will provide an additional stipend to subsidize the individual purchase of health/dental. The ECNL will also provide a cell phone and monthly service plan

The ECNL is an independent, non-profit, member-based 501(c)(3) organization, with an independent governance and leadership structure. The ECNL Board of Directors and staff solely governs all programs and platforms. The ECNL is sanctioned by US Club Soccer.
