Posted: 09-Jun-26
Location: Rochester, Michigan
Internal Number: 37940
Position Purpose:
Oakland University invites applications for a newly established Executive Director, Enrollment Marketing — a senior leader responsible for driving enrollment outcomes through integrated, data-driven marketing strategy. Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMCO) and working in close partnership with the Vice President for Enrollment Management, this role owns the university's enrollment marketing performance — translating enrollment goals into integrated campaigns that drive inquiry, application, yield, and matriculation.
This is a high-visibility, high-impact position for a marketing leader who can operate at both a strategic and executive level — connecting brand, campaigns, CRM, and analytics into a cohesive system that delivers measurable results. The Executive Director will oversee agency performance, align marketing and enrollment priorities, and build a more accountable, data-driven approach to recruitment marketing across the university.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Demonstrated ability to drive measurable enrollment or revenue outcomes through integrated marketing strategy.
A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in performance marketing or enrollment marketing, with demonstrated success driving measurable outcomes at scale.
Proven track record managing an external advertising or marketing agency, including scoping, briefing, performance review, and contract management.
Deep fluency in paid media platforms (Google Ads, Meta, programmatic display), marketing analytics, and attribution modeling.
Hands-on experience with a CRM or marketing automation platform; experience with Slate or comparable higher education CRM strongly preferred.
Strong command of the full enrollment marketing funnel, with experience improving conversion and yield across multiple stages.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategic decisions and executive-ready presentations.
Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; comfortable working across organizational boundaries with enrollment, academic, and advancement partners.
Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree.
Experience in higher education marketing, particularly in enrollment management or academic marketing contexts.
Familiarity with the Southeast Michigan market and/or regional public university landscape.
Experience with Slate CRM, Emma email platform, or comparable higher education marketing technology.
