The University of Connecticut is seeking an experienced Health Marketing Writer to provide advanced level writing and strategic message development for promotional materials for UConn Health. The successful candidate will be expected to exercise originality, creativity and to regularly develop his/her own ideas within broad guidelines established by the supervisor. Work is varied and requires a sound understanding of subject and target audience. Work will include writing for print advertising, billboards, radio, TV, digital banner ads, web and social media.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field; at least 5 years proven writing experience; knowledge of business-to-consumer marketing; evidence of excellent marketing writing skills, including experience in social and digital channels; and the ability to meet deadlines for multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, take initiative, and make sound judgments.
Experience in managing and developing client relationships; and experience in marketing writing specific to the healthcare industry.
This is a full-time position; the person in this position will be required to work 4 days/week at the UConn Health campus in Farmington, and 1 day/week at the UConn campus in Storrs.
Candidates selected for an interview may be required to complete a brief writing assignment during their interview.
