Founded in 1994, Dance Theatre Etcetera (DTE) is a vibrant community-based, multi-disciplinary arts organization located on the Red Hook, Brooklyn waterfront. DTE currently runs year round arts education programs at high needs public high schools as well onsite and offsite after-school and community programs for ages 12-24, serving upwards of 700 students annually. In addition, DTE produces the annual Red Hook Fest each June – a free outdoor performing arts festival that features top notch music and dance groups as well performances by over 100 local youth – and Red Hook:Move It!- in the fall, a showcase of several dance companies’ works and a participatory dance party held in conjunction with a Red Hook Thanksgiving celebration.
DTE is seeking a part time Marketing Associate to join our team, and help expand marketing capacity for our growing organization. This part-time position is an excellent opportunity for an emerging skilled professional to plan, prioritize, and build marketing capacity for the organization over the longer term with a future option of full time employment with the Company.
Build off of DTE’s existing marketing strategies to increase the organization’s public profile, corporate sponsorships, and brand recognition for programming in performance, education and to our local constituents
Collaborate with staff to manage DTE’s upcoming rebranding process
Coordinate website maintenance. Ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly
Implement and manage social media strategies
Produce monthly e-news and an annual newsletters
Manage year end online fundraising campaign
Assist with marketing school and community-based programs ensuring all materials conform to DTE branding guidelines as developed
Handle publicity for major events and fundraisers (including, but not limited to, sponsorships, program advertisements, cross-promotions)
Assist with creating supplemental materials for grant applications
Develop and manage all media contacts and send out press releases as needed
Manage database as well as photo and video archives
Assist with documenting programs
Other office administrative tasks as needed
Superb written and verbal communicator
Proven track record implementing successful marketing initiatives for arts organizations
Excellent work ethic, maturity, and ability to commit to the organization’s overall mission and values.
Exceptional attention to detail, excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
1-3 years’ experience establishing marketing plans for arts organizations using evidence-based reporting systems, such as Google Analytics.
Excellent computer skills including at least 3 years with MS Office
Good graphic design skills, including experience with Photoshop, In Design, or comparable software.
Experience with website maintenance and e-marketing programs
Expertise in theory and practice in marketing for arts organizations, including experience in duties as listed above.
Video editing skills, and photography skills

In fall 2012, DTE inaugurated its Dance on the Greenway program- a festival of site-specific dance performances created for sites along the new Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway.
