OVERVIEW: Storytellers wanted. Do you love to tell good stories about people doing their jobs well? Can you tell those stories using print, the web, email, social media, video, and more? Are you an accomplished writer, editor and social media guru?
Come join the fledgling, but growing, communications and marketing team in Texas State University’s Information Technology Division and put your skills to work sharing stories about divisional efforts to help Texas State students, faculty, and staff succeed.
We’re looking for a jack-of-all-trades communicator who can plan out meaningful and successful marketing campaigns and take the lead on making those plans a reality, particularly through use of social media. If you know the best and latest tips and tricks to build audiences through Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, etc., we’d love to hear from you.
ABOUT US: The IT Division includes a diverse group of people working in important and interesting departments. You will get the chance to tell campus and the larger community about the efforts of librarians at Alkek Library, the customer-first technicians at the IT Assistance Center, the curators at The Wittliff Collections, the instructional designers helping faculty take advantage of technology through Learning Experience Design, and many, many more.
You will work with the IT Marketing and Communications Coordinator and communications professionals in various departments to craft messages for consumption on-campus and off.
ABOUT YOU: You have professional experience producing communications, such as news releases, feature stories, visual graphics, Web pages, social media, photographs, etc., to be used in strategic communications, marketing and public outreach campaigns.
