This intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of marketing.
The Marketing/PR Intern will work in the administrative offices of the NRO, working closely with the Director of Marketing & Events and CEO/COO. Working knowledge of classical music a plus. Responsibilities will include: assisting with the creation and distribution of marketing/publicity materials, writing and submitting press releases and community notes for performances and other NRO activities, writing and submitting PSA’s, creating of bi-weekly PowerPoint displays, creating promotional posters, maintaining and organizing press clippings, data entry online calendar submissions, answering office phones, helping with administrative details associated with special events, soliciting auction items from local businesses and working with Outreach/Education intern to staff outreaches. Other duties include assisting with the website, weekly e-blast newsletters, Twitter, Facebook, Social Media Sites and NRO Blog. The Marketing/PR intern may also assist during performances and special events in a variety of roles, including but not limited to set-up and clean-up. Dress: during the day, responsible for wearing appropriate "office casual" attire. Performance dress is more formal. At all other times and events, clean and professional attire is required.
